Testimonials from our members

We love Indie York! York is a city like few others; laid back and effortlessly cool - largely because it is full of diverse and vibrant indie businesses. Indie York recognises this and has provided a platform for these independent businesses to have a bigger voice as a collective than they would on their own. The membership fee is small (in comparison to other similar groups), and there is a genuine desire amongst the committee to bring real value to each and every member business. I would recommend Indie York to everyone - whether business looking to sign up, or as a consumer looking for the best places to shop, eat, and stay. We ❤️ Indie York and are proud to be a member!

Rebecca Hill, Galtres Lodge Hotel

Indie York works closely with small businesses of York and helped put York on the map for independent trade!

Kennedy’s Bar

We love Indie York. It is brilliant at showcasing the city's independent businesses, has proved to be a powerful and effective force for change and is run by lovely people to boot. YorkMix has benefited immeasurably from our Indie York membership. Much admired throughout the city and beyond, Indie York is reshaping our city for the better, and we feel fortunate to belong to an organisation which delivers for its members and for York itself.

Chris Titley, York Mix Media

We are delighted to be associated with and supported by the organisation that looks out for and promotes the small independents which make the York shopping, dining, hospitality and leisure experiences unique from other towns and cities.

Simon Main, Village Gallery

Being part of Indie York has been a great boost to our business - helping both tourists and residents alike find out about our restaurant and bar- where we are and what we do, as we are a little off the beaten track. Not only that, but the sense of community it creates for Yorks independent business’ is fantastic, we don’t have 100 employees and a Head Office to bounce ideas off. The social media support alone and feature on the map (that is everywhere you go in York) makes the subscription well worth it.

Annabel Snee, Whippet Inn

Indie York are flying the flag for the city’s independent businesses! We have found the team to be really helpful & supportive & they are passionate about highlighting what York’s independents have to offer. As a member you get an on-line profile, lots of social media interaction & a feature on the map that helps visitors discover the alternative York.

Tracey Malcolm, Tullivers

Being part of the Indie York network has given me valuable support from other members and my place on the fabulous new map means people can find my shop with ease!
