Artist and printmaker working mainly with linocut, specialising in cityscapes of York.
Having grown up in York there are so many sites and places that are familiar to me. Inspired by this, I try to capture the energy and activity of life in our wonderful City and create images about the characters, stories and local history.
I take the time to research tales and personalities before creating illustrations and images, turning the tales into visual narratives inviting you in to become part of the tale. Each piece is hand carved on traditional Lino before the full block is hand printed in my studio in Poppleton, just outside York.
As a member of York Printmakers and Poppleton Contemporary Artists, I love to open my studio and exhibit alongside fellow artists and creators.
I run workshops in printmaking techniques for all ages and abilities through York Learning.
