Heritage Escapes York Old Brewery

As a 6th generation farming business based in Sewerby, Bridlington, we diversified into tourism in 1986 by converting abandoned Victorian farm buildings into holiday accommodation. Through the years this has been a multi -award winning operation.

When the Old Brewery was converted, by Colette and David Rogers, from industrial warehousing into apartments in 2010, we saw the opportunity to spread our offering from the coast and countryside into York, to offer city breaks. Our trading name in York is Heritage-Escapes/York Old Brewery.

We now offer three luxury apartments in The Old Brewery, adjacent to the cathedral, which couldn't be more central and convenient for visitors to York.

Our apartments, named The Hop Store, Brew House and Malt House, as a nod to the building's former use, have twice won Visit York's Self Catering of the Year Award and are all graded 5 Star Gold By Visit England.

Each apartment has use of secure courtyard parking, which guests see as a particular bonus  and comes included in the rental price. Our changeover days are Monday  ( 3, 4 or 7 nights) and Friday ( 3 or 7 nights.)

Another important selling point is that two apartments, The Hop Store and Brew House, have lift access and are level throughout.

Please note, access to the third apartment, The Malt House, is via stone steps  on the exterior of the building.  The Malt House is a duplex apartment, so is not suitable for visitors with mobility difficulties.
