Traditional dealers in second-hand and new silver and jewellery, and antiques
Sat: 9.00 – 18.00
Set up by Tim Foster in 1981, a gentleman who worked his way up from apprentice to director at the former Hoppers of York jewellers, Fosters is now managed by his daughter Caroline. Today, it’s a very similar set-up to when Tim first opened the doors with a focus on showcasing the best from English makers, antique clocks and the biggest selection of silver and enamel Saturno animals.
They have huge knowledge of everything they sell and they have built up their network of steadfast master craftsmen and women including a silversmith, a watch repairer, a hand engraver and a clockmaker for their customer base. With a jewellery window that is free-dressed every morning and the silver cleaned every six weeks, this is a store that takes huge pride in its higher-end jewellery and silverware for all occasions.
“It’s important to us to try and keep the traditional service we are known for, and we deal with and mend anything we sell as we still have those contacts.”
