Brunswick Organic Nursery is a registered charity and day service where adults with learning disabilities and/or autism are supported to experience meaningful and productive opportunities.
We offer a range of opportunities to our community of " workers " self-appointed name for adults with learning disabilities at Brunswick, our volunteers and placements through teams in
Plant production: growing plants from seed and plugs, propagation and plant care.
Land crops: growing organic vegetables and fruit/flower crops
Garden Services: local community-based garden maintenance working across York
Estates: keeping the Brunswick sites looking tidy and at their best
Crafts: greeting card design, weaving, soap making, jewellery and pressed flower crafts
Cooking: preparing snacks and lunches for our teams and events
Woodwork: making bird boxes, benches and homewares from recycled wood
Community and Events: publishing newsletters, hosting tours/presentations and supporting events in the community
One-to-one support: using people’s strengths and interests to make or grow products and develop new skills
The award-winning Brunswick Shop stocks a great range of plants and organic fresh fruit and vegetables, hand-made eco-friendly crafts and homewares; all grown, made or designed at Brunswick. We also sell produce from organic, local and sustainable suppliers as well as high quality garden pots and ornaments. All profits go straight back to Brunswick.
