Art, antiques, jewellery & silver
A keen eye for distinctive glass, jewellery, sculpture, silver and much more besides, honed through years spent travelling the country attending antique and fine art fairs is what gives the Village Gallery’s owner the edge. Local artists are also offered the chance to display their work in the upstairs art selling space, with each exhibition typically lasting around six weeks.
It’s quite common that customers will pop in having seen Simon’s displays of Lalique glass in the window, as the gallery now offers one of the largest ranges of bold old and new pieces in the city, as well as a stellar collection of Royal Crown Derby. Pay him a visit to browse the semi-permanent collections which include works from York’s own plein-air painter Malcolm Ludvigsen, Batik artist Rebecca Mason, and West Yorkshire woodworker Ralph Shuttleworth.
“I’m a collector at heart, and love finding antique, less-old and new pieces so we can offer our customers a range of beautiful things to choose from.”
