The Sandwich Hut
Home of the builders’ box
Sat: 10.00 – 13.00
Left the house in a hurry with no time for breakfast or to make lunch? The Sandwich Hut has got you covered. For hungry workers, the hot breakfast box – two sausages, three slices of bacon, two eggs, beans, tomato and black pudding – should sort you out or there’s an array of sandwich, jacket potato and panini fillings to choose from. Ask what the weekly special is or try staff favourite chicken tikka and cheese panini with jalapeños for a nice kick – you get a free sandwich for every 10 bought.
While co-owner Emma Tailford-Castle is busy making a whole host of things including their caramelised onion and cheese, ham and mushroom quiches, caramel slice, flapjacks and brownies, Neil busies himself with outside catering deliveries (he’ll deliver to most places free for spends over £10 or for a £2 charge) to businesses and schools. They’re also more than happy to devise meals on wheels for local care homes.
“We’re very flexible because it’s all made from home and a lot of it sells out straight away. If someone comes in and asks for something especially, like a flavour of quiche then we’ll make it for them.”
