Pinder & Scott
Artisan bakery, teatime treats and Yorkshire goodies
Sun: 11:00 - 17.00
Shelves laden with tea caddies, coffees, Yorkshire-made jams and chutneys, baskets of bread and glass domes filled with flavoured brownies… it’s enough to make your mouth water. Anything from 250 to 400 (on busy days) loaves are baked and sold from Tuesday to Saturday with Marmite and cheese, olive bread, ciabatta among the combination of 20 different types on offer on any one day.
We’re also told the triple chocolate brownie, with huge lozenges of the good stuff in it, will satiate all chocolate addicts. For those who like to take something home to remember their visit, the jams, pickles and chutneys, which are handmade for Pinder & Scott by a producer in Sutton on the Forest, or the York theme-titled teas will do just the trick.
“We’d be mad not to keep the bread on because it’s got a great local following, and Jim, the current baker, has stayed on to sell his bread to us so we can offer it alongside a diverse range of other Yorkshire-produced goods.”
