Heart of Wax
Marrying vinyl records with vintage clothing
Thurs – Sat: 10:30 - 21.00
Sun: 10.30- 18.00
Anna Lewis and Phil Waines brought together their respective vintage clothing and vinyl market stalls to establish Heart of Wax now housed in a 20ft shipping container on the ground floor of Spark:York. If you like alternative and vintage that’s ideal for wearing to festivals and gigs (think denim, camo shirts, and sequin dresses and vest tops) and classic rock, northern soul and jazz records, you’ll be in good company.
Taking their time to hand-select their items specially from car boots, charity shops and private collections, everything is A-grade vintage and Phil is happy to go and purchase personal collections. Likewise, if people want to head to see the pair at their unit and bring in a denim jacket or record collection they will happily take look at it and even offer a fair price if it suits the range.
“We like the idea of cross-genre shopping – that you can buy a Motorhead album and a leather jacket or a Stevie Nicks album and a 70s bohemian dress from the same place.”
