Harvey's of York
Fine cheese, chilli & chutney
Following a change of career from social work led James to cheese. “I’ve always liked nice food and delis, and going round delis I was thinking, ‘I could do this’.”
He took a retail cheese trading course with the Guild of Fine Food and now stocks around 70 cheeses in his market kiosk. Added to that, he also sells a variety of Yorkshire Preserves, Honeys, Oils & the full range of 'Chilli Jam Man Products'. James’ cheeses of choice include Yorkshire Blue from Shepherd's Purse, Aged Wensleydale, & Dales End – a traditional clothbound Cheddar made in the North York Moors by adults with learning disabilities in Botton Village.
“Ask me for my recipe for a mean cheese sauce.”
